I dont find washing them a chore and through the summer drying was not to bad either.

However they are more bulky so trousers dont fit to well, if they do fit they are very long in the leg to fit the lap.

He was slower to start to sit than other babies. We tried disposables one per day for 2 weeks at play time and he learnt to sit. now he can sit even in bulky mother ease with a booster.

Also velcro catches other things in the wash, be carefull.

I have to admit that I sometimes get tired of washing. I like hanging nappies out on the washing line and even enjoy washing them and taking them, clean from the machine.
But it does mean that if I do one wash everyday, I have to juggle the nappies, the clothes and all the other household washing.
Sometimes I don't have clean sheets dry in time.
This is a small price to pay though, because I do like cloth nappies.

Initial outlay is quite high, if you want to use cloth nappies full-time right from the start.  You also need a bit more storage space than for disposables.

Sluicing off BF poo is a bit of a pain!

I agree about the velcro, I only buy nippa nappies now - they're also more versatile in terms of the size range you can use them for, and often slightly cheaper too.

I've had fewer problems than I anticipated with getting clothes to fit - though my baby does mostly live in babygros!  Asda ones are roomy, she was nearly 13lb by the time she outgrew the "first size" (newborn) ones.  I've heard that European brands tend to be relatively big in the bum, as cloth nappies are more widely used over there.

Interesting point about learning to sit - I have noticed that she doesn't seem to fold in the middle very easily with a reusable on, so maybe I'll try the same approach.

They are an addiction that can result in a LOT of time being wasted shopping for nappies!
