I think my son went pretty much from small prefolds into large nappies, or size 2's. I had a few mediums, which he still fits, in fact it is possible that some mediums are the same size as size large. Has anyone bothered with medium sized nappies or did you just go small - large? How much wear did your medium sized nappies get?
I've only used shaped nappies (plus terry squares and Disana tie-ons), and I don't think the question really applies to them, since size 2 and large are generally the same thing - but I only have about half a dozen size 1 nappies, the rest are (mostly) size 2 nippas that I've been using since my baby was about 10lb, and I do need medium wraps to go with those. Can't comment on prefolds though.
The only medium nappies that I have seen are Swaddlebees, most others seem to have sizes one and two or can be onesize. It is quite easy to avoid medium nappies unless you buy a fancy nappy. Probably there isn't that much point to medium nappies if you want to save money. If you like cute nappies like swaddlebees then you probably don't worry about the cost so much. Hope that helps Heidi
I have only had a couple of medium nappies, I think one was in Poochies and another was a terry nappy from the US. They were both outgrown quite fast and wouldn't have lasted beyond 6-7 months. Having said that, they were the best fitting nappies for the weight that I had. I agree it's a bit pricey if you want to go newborn, small, medium, large and if you have a big baby extra large too.
